Patrick Weisel, MLA

Landscape Designer & Naturalist

Patrick Weisel is an artist, gardener, plantsman, naturalist, landscape designer & theorist. He grew up in the nursery trade in southern Missouri, but came to New York City as a graphic designer and fine artist. He first returned to his family trade working in New York City's Riverside Park, where he continues to consult after 20 years. He earned a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the City College of New York in 2008, and started his own design/build company in 2009.

BloomTime

BloomTime is a phenological notebook recording significant horticultural events in and around New York CIty. Its primary purpose is to create a sequential photo log of flowering plants for use as an aid to planting design, but may also note interesting ornithological and entomological observations. Blog posts are always dated when photos were actually taken.

If you would like to read more about phenology, or participate in phenological citizen science, visit USA National Phenology Network.

Rest in Peace, Old Friend.
